"Configuration HM1 remains, to this day, the most avant-garde production I have ever had the privilege of working on. There were neither roles nor characters, only ‘performers’. We were free to choose when to recite our texts – poems by Heiner Müller. We moved in slow motion and, thanks to our bodies highly trained in kung fu and yoga, formed human sculptures that were always in motion. We had painted the set ourselves – a huge canvas – under the guidance of the German painter Mark Lammert. Everything, the entire atmosphere, which was meditative, was created ‘live’ and uniquely by our bodies, their tension and our voices. The end of the performance was signalled solely by an unexpected stop from the Austrian director, Josef Szeiler, who was present on stage. It was a different space, a different time from the everyday. Simply magnificent!"
