" ‘Tales from the Vienna Woods’, directed in 1994 by the West German theatre director Wolfgang Hagemann, marked the beginning of a great passion for the acting profession for me. I also began going to the theatre more and more often as a member of the audience. I was now sixteen years old, performing in a theatre group and on the stage of the Volkstheater, discovering more and more playwrights and productions that I liked. It was the start of a life’s work. Theatre as a form of expression and as a medium for reaching out to other people. In real life, I was rather shy. I remembered how, in the production of "The Vienna Woods", I came on stage with a pair of red tights on my head, and during my performance, between the lines of the poem I was reciting as Ida, I was supposed to act as though I had just been raped."
