In a Germany rebuilt thanks to the ‘economic miracle’ of the post-World War II era, the ‘Baader gang’ shook the German federal statefor a decade between 1966 and 1977. Adherents of a relentless and violent revolutionary struggle against state structures and their emblematic representatives, Andreas Baader, Gudrun Ensslin, Ulrike Meinhof and their comrades in the R.A.F. (Rote Armee Fraktion) demonstrated their desire to change the world in a kind of uncompromising and pure avant-garde. Not shying away from individual murders or attacks in the name of amerciless struggle against capitalism, a fight that the social democratic left (S.P.D.) was no longer waging, the R.A.F. claimed to attack imperialism at the very heart of its metropolises. Michel Deutsch has built a dramatic work around this story, combining written and audio historical documents with scenes of pure fiction.
