With: Faudile de France
DuoDuo was a collaboration between singer and guitarist Faudile de France and singer and songwriter Susi Vogel. The duo have performed several times in anarchist bars in Brussels.
Concert at Bouillon de cube in 2011
S. repeats ‘Chuis pas une pute’ with her back to the audience, then turns around:
"Oh, I thought I was alone! But since you're here and F is late as usual, let's share the song like a good meal between friends, eh? Are there any feminists in the audience? Yes, I thought so! Let's see if this song is a hit. I can imagine it being sung in chorus at the opening of a big festival for women's rights. Shall I teach you the chorus? Then we'll do a casting and who knows, maybe we'll be on TV, eh? So let's start with the chorus. I've got the lyrics here, but let's hurry because F hates feminists, so we have to do this underground, OK? She sings with the audience.
F. arrives, confused: "What, you're singing that song? But it's not finished!
S.: "We have to keep ourselves busy, don't we? If I wait for your inspiration, I'll be sitting here until Christmas. Here's my phone number, if you have any ideas for an extra verse! Come on, sweetie, let's sing it so people know where they stand. There's no beginning without an end. Come on, you're the best, my darling!

F. arrives, confused: "What, you're singing that song? But it's not finished!
S.: "We have to keep ourselves busy, don't we? If I wait for your inspiration, I'll be sitting here until Christmas. Here's my phone number, if you have any ideas for an extra verse! Come on, sweetie, let's sing it so people know where they stand. There's no beginning without an end. Come on, you're the best, my darling!
S.: ‘There you go, you've done it again! Hacked my silly goose, we've hacked it! Listen, I'm going to turn into a bird, a seagull preferably, because I dream of the sea and you sing us the perfect song! Perfect!’
He sings Le pirate
S. declares his love for F. " Yes, there's nothing to say, this song is magnificent, I don't know how you do it technically and everything is really good. I admire you, my sweetheart. Oh really, I feel so small next to you, like a tiny flower, and you are my sunshine, you see? It almost makes me sad, it's so beautiful to live with you. But my heart is still so small. But you make it grow. We are like two planets orbiting each other, influencing each other's trajectories, making incredible, even perfect movements. They run parallel, they dance, and there is so much emotion in watching them...
F. loses his mind and gets the audience going with his songs.
End of the first part.
The German-speaking quarter hour
The atmosphere is deeply melancholic, with two different tempos: F fast, S slow.
F. or Monsieur Ledoute gives a lesson in love songs and the star lip-syncs.
At the end of the song, S. arrives (she copies him) and sings with him. Argument.
S. calls out to her character: "Who am I, what have I done? What should I do next? Oooh, what a curiosity, I am torn between languages and countries, between what I am and what I could be, between action and observation, together or alone, uuhh, what contradictions I suffer, ih, I am completely devastated, uuuhh. I don't know what to do anymore, I'm going to call the sea in my head (Ostsee) uuh there's so much water I don't need my tears anymore but a boat ooh sailors what's the weather like, pass me the magazine and the beer - I feel like I'm on the beach... that's how I dream."
F., who's causing trouble, brings her back to the damn reality. "Aah, how do I deal with this REALITY? As soon as I realise I'm not alone, it gets complicated! Because you and I don't have the same reality, do we? It constantly clashes and annoys me, how can I find my way?
‘The world is an unreasonable and blind expression. Living in this world is suffering.’ Schopi
F. ‘Let's not pretend, you're here, we're here, reality is now! Cruel and nasty! Haha, I laugh at it!’
S. and F. are performing at the German cabaret. S. is showing off like a star. F. tries to take on all the minor roles, but constantly fails... bad tempo, music stand, he sings in German like Gould, etc.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I am going to tell you my life story exclusively (but what I tell you here must not leave this room).
The following three songs show the three decades of my life, three stages - a triptych!
The first song tells the story of a woman or a child sitting alone in a cell, and things are not going well for her, and then suddenly, she looks up and sees another woman (I always speak as a woman because I feel like I represent women, but that doesn't change the course of our story). So she looks up and sees another woman, and suddenly the cell seems less unbearable because two people create life, and they dream of destroying the cell.Come on, my darling, let's destroy the cell! "
They sing La cellule.
S.: "Once outside the cell, it may seem as though the woman is unable to adapt to the rhythm outside the cell or is searching for her breath to impose it on the world. And as we breathe, we realise that everything is connected, that everything is everywhere. I'm going to try it."
She sings Einatmen Ausatmen.
"In the next episode, you'll see a love song contest class.
There you go, and we'll rehearse our new song a little more, eh, my darling?"
They sing Angst im Kopf.
